Royal Holloway has risen ten places to number 32 in the UK in The Guardian University League Table 2021.
The league table comprehensively analyses UK universities in a variety of key areas, including teaching, student satisfaction and employability to determine their performance.
Royal Holloway received 86% overall student satisfaction with teaching and 88% overall satisfaction with courses.

“This ranking is a clear endorsement of our approach, and is a testament to the contribution and achievements of our students and staff.”
This news follows Royal Holloway rising five places in The Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2020, to become a top 20 UK university, positioning the university at number 19 in the national rankings.
It also comes after The National Student Survey (NSS) 2020 results showed that the university has exceeded the sector average score for overall satisfaction for the third year in a row, achieving a score of 87% for overall student satisfaction, four percentage points above the sector average.
The NSS, which is an independent student survey carried out by the Office for Students on behalf of the UK higher education funding and regulatory bodies, is used by universities and colleges as well as student unions to drive improvements across multiple areas of students’ academic experience.
It is also used by prospective students to help inform their decision making about which university to choose and what to study. The survey captured the views of over 311,432 students across the UK.
